Bourne to premiere Dorian Gray

One of Britain's most successful choreographers and the mastermind behind the all-male Swan Lake will premiere his latest production in August.

Dorian Gray, is described as a 'dark fairy tale that tells the story of an exceptionally alluring young man who makes a pact with the devil.

'Amongst London's beautiful people, Dorian Gray is the "It Boy" - an icon of beauty and truth in an increasingly ugly world.

The destructive power of beauty, the blind pursuit of pleasure and the darkness and corruption that lies beneath the charming façade; The themes behind Wilde’s cautionary tale have never been more timely.'

An adaptation of Oscar Wilde's novel The Picture of Dorian Gray, Bourne's new production will premiere at the Edinburgh International Festival in August before moving to London's Sadler's Wells at the beginning of September.

Dorian Gray will be created by lead New Adventures soloist Richard Winsor, who also played the lead in Edward Scissorhands - which is touring the UK in 2008 - and recent production of The Car Man.
